Hakeem Beamon | R-Sr.+ | DT Penn State's staff loved Beamon's grasp of the stakes, and his potential impact, ahead of the 2023 season. This offseason is no different, and now he has a year of contributions under his belt. The sixth- year senior will be looking to seize the op- portunity in front of him. Beamon started six games and played in all 13 last season. The formula isn't likely to change, with J-Thomas, Izzard and Du- rant all back this year. The vibe is good for Penn State's defensive tackles heading into the season, and Beamon's commitment to bulking up — he's listed at 6-3, 285 pounds —is yet another reason for optimism. 24. Zakee Wheatley | R-Jr. | S Any list detailing Penn State's top over- all players has to include Wheatley. The 6-2, 200-pounder hasn't fully realized the potential that the coaching staff sees in him, but as part of a defense that will seek to create turnovers by any means possible this year, his offseason emergence is a ma- jor storyline. It bolsters what Penn State is going to do with fellow safeties Reed and Winston, and shows that Wheatley's upside is worth the necessary personnel adjustments to ensure that he's on the field more often. Wheatley's production the past two seasons dictates his placement toward the bottom of these rankings. But with his ball-hawking potential, there's a good chance he'll rank higher in a few months. 25. Beau Pribula | R-So. | QB Pribula isn't likely to unseat Allar as the team's top quarterback, but he has shown he can provide value to the Lions' offense. And given Kotelnicki's penchant for using the quarterback as a ball carrier, Pribula would appear to be a useful player in the Lions' revamped offensive scheme. Will that mean more for Pribula than the 142 snaps he amassed last season? Considering the decreased likelihood of blowout opportunities on PSU's sched- ule this year, it might not. But the Lions found ways to use the backup quarterback productively, as evidenced by his average of 5.9 yards per carry and 6 rushing touch- downs. There's every reason to believe he will continue to be an asset in 2024. ■ OFFENSE QUARTERBACK No. Name Cl. Ht.
