NOVEMBER 2024 ❱ THE WOLVERINE 13 ❱ INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS ❱  Getting To Know Wrestling Redshirt Senior Jaden Bullock Redshirt senior Jaden Bullock was an NCAA qualifier at 184 pounds last sea- son, posting a 2-2 record at the NCAA Championships after finishing fourth at Big Tens. He tallied a career-record 20 victories in 2023-24, going 8-4 in dual meets with two ranked wins. Here are some things about Bullock that you may not have known: Best Aspect Of Being From Chesapeake, Va.: "Being from a place that has no sports teams, I can bounce around without being called a bandwagon fan." Favorite Restaurant In Ann Arbor: "Amer's Deli." Best Meal He Can Cook By Himself: "I just cooked some steak, potatoes, and I love brussels sprouts." Favorite Professional Athlete: "[Milwaukee Bucks forward] Giannis Ante- tokounmpo. His mentality and just the way that he approaches every single day and how, even if he's doing the best that he can, he always shows that he has room for growth. He's always working on something different. And he's so humble, too. That's what I want to emulate." Sport He Enjoys Besides Wrestling: "In the summer, I play a lot of basket- ball. When I'm done wrestling, basketball is definitely one of the sports that I'll continue to play just to stay in shape." Favorite Movie: "The last movie that I watched and was like, 'Wow, this is a really good movie,' was the first 'Transformers.'" Favorite TV Series: "Better Call Saul." Why He Chose Michigan: "I was set to go to another school, but I hadn't commited yet. In my head, I was like, 'This is probably where I want to go,' but once I got a call from Michigan. They just aligned perfectly with what was happening in my life. It was right before COVID, and then I came on a visit and I thought, 'Dang, it's the perfect spot. If I really want to push myself the way that I say I want to push myself, Michigan is the best place athletically and academically.'" What He Hopes To Do After Michigan: "I'm doing exercise science as a major with a minor in entrepreneurship. I'm going to graduate this spring, and then I'm going to get into a master's program. I don't know which one yet. I really don't know what I want to do just yet." Favorite Memory At Michigan: "Even though I wasn't wrestling, just be- ing on the team when we won Big Tens in 2022. It's been the same teams winning ever since I was a little kid. It was crazy to be on the team when we won it." Overall Experience At Michigan: "I love Michigan. I love every part of it. It's just so accommodating for the student-athlete — it's just perfect. There's no other place that I would choose." — Clayton Sayfie Bullock, a two-time Virginia state champion for Oscar Smith High School, was an NCAA qualifier for U-M at 184 pounds last season.
