WINTER 2024-25 3 Hoos! As the holiday season approaches, I want to express heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your unwavering sup- port of Virginia Athletics. This year has been a journey of growth, achievement, and navigating new challenges in the evolving landscape of college athletics. Amid these changes, your ongoing commitment will be even more es- sential in helping UVA Athletics to be equipped with the necessary resources to house, train, and educate student- athletes as they compete for championships while on Grounds and prepare for success in life beyond their playing days. Together, we are making strides that will define the future of UVA Athletics. BUILD. BELIEVE. BELONG. Since the launch of the Sabre Society in April, more than 200 commitments of $25,000 or more have been made in support of UVA Athletics, which eclipsed the previous record of 159 in 2022. There are now over 600 active Sabre Society members hailing from 31 different states and 46 of Virginia's 95 counties. VAF donors have generously raised the bar this year by making contributions that have led to record highs in the organization's 76-year history to Sport En- hancement Funds and Endowment commitments while also approaching a new high watermark in the Annual Fund with a few weeks to go in the calendar year. We're thrilled to share that we've welcomed nearly 800 new donors this year, and over 1,500 donors participated in the 110% Challenge — an incredible testament to our community's dedication. With continued effort, we're confi- dent in reaching our goals and maximizing our support for our student-athletes. LOOKING AHEAD While college athletics is experiencing significant transformation, we are committed to navigating these uncharted waters with a focus on sustaining our commitment to academic and athletic excellence. Your support remains vital as we adapt to new challenges, ensuring that UVA Athletics continues to flour- ish in this new era. My family and I, along with the entire VAF team, wish you a joyful and ful- filling holiday season. We look forward to celebrating many more victories together as we move forward. Thank you for being part of this journey with us — our success is yours to share. I trust that you share our desire to ensure that UVA Athletics remains ELITE for years to come. The VAF staff welcomes the opportunity to align your inter- ests with the abundance of ways to support UVA Athletics that are available to you. Please don't hesitate to reach out to learn more. Thank you in advance for your continued support during this critical time in the history of UVA Athletics! Go Hoos, Kevin J.
