22 ■ THE WOLFPACKER BY NOAH FLEISCHMAN ustin Joly wanted to make a loud first impression. He had a few ideas for what the execu- tion would look like, but as one of NC State's four player repre- sentatives at ACC Kickoff, Joly was eager to have the media members in attendance turn- ing their heads. By the time Joly rolled up to the Hilton Charlotte Uptown in late July, his outfit didn't blend in with the rest of the bland black and blue suits that most players went with. Instead, he opted to have an all-red custom suit designed by Durham- based tailor Jeremy Quinn of Saint Amour. It wasn't a basic suit, either. Joly, like his play on the field as NC State's standout tight end, needed something to call his own. Quinn helped with that, fashioning a red jacket with a red dress shirt — hide- away buttons and all — with red pants, accented by a black bow tie. Joly capped the outfit with sparkly black Louboutin shoes, a diamond necklace and a Tuffy- themed lapel pin. "I'm a bold person. I'm a bold player on the field," Joly said with a grin in Char- lotte. "I like to make a statement, so why not make a statement with what I'm wearing?" Joly is ready to make an even louder entrance in his final season of college football this fall.
