Morrison, who is not presently ranked by any of the major recruiting websites, visited PSU for the season opener and has earned Power Four offers from Florida, Mary- land, Miami, Missouri, Ohio State, Pitt, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Wisconsin. WIDE RECEIVER Penn State holds a commitment from Khalil Taylor of Pine-Richland High in Pittsburgh. A four-star prospect, Tay- lor is the 32nd-ranked player nationally and is seventh among wideouts, giving position coach Marques Hagans one of his best commitments in any class. As is often the case at wide receiver, Penn State has been aggressive nation- ally, extending more than 30 offers so far. There are a handful of quality prospects in the Northeast, including Matthew Gregory from Owen J. Roberts High in Pottstown, Pa. Ranked No. 39 nationally, eighth at his position and fourth in Pennsylvania, Gregory is un- doubtedly one of Penn State's most im- portant prospects in the class. He fin- ished second in the 100-meter race at the PIAA Class AAA Track and Field Championships this past spring. His personal best is 10.46 seconds, making Gregory one of the fastest receivers in the class. New Jersey has a few intriguing re- ceivers as well, notably Xavier Sabb from Glassboro. Ranked as the nation's No. 47 overall prospect, No. 1 athlete and No. 2 player in his home state, Sabb has taken six visits to Penn State dating back to 2022. He's the younger brother of linebacker Keon Sabb, a Michigan signee who later transferred to Ala- bama. Another brother, Amari Sabb, is a member of the 2026 class. Penn State isn't pushing for Amari nearly as hard as Xavier. How that impacts his recruit- ment will be interesting to follow. North Jersey natives Isaiah Alvarez of Don Bosco Prep and Bryan Porter of Bergen Catholic are also in the mix. Both are three-star prospects who have visited Penn State regularly, dating back to last season. They plan to attend the White Out game against Oregon. Porter, who is unrated by Rivals, is the younger brother of Ohio State wide re- ceiver Quincy Porter. Alvarez is listed as the nation's No. 70 receiver and the No. 16 prospect in his home state. Others to keep an eye on nationally include four-star prospects Quentin Burrell of Mt. Carmel, Ill.; Dakota Guer- rant of Harper Woods, Mich.; Anthony Roberts of Rolesville, N.C.; and Myles McAfee from Severn, Md. McAfee, who's listed at No. 138 na- tionally and No. 24 at the position, has been to State College four times so far, but his most recent trip was in January. The coaching staff will be eager to get the Archbishop Spalding standout back on campus. Burrell and Guerrant were on cam- pus in June, while Roberts attended a spring practice session in April. Having made 14 visits to Michigan, Guerrant has given every indication that he will stay close to home. Burrell is believed to be favoring Michigan and Notre Dame at this point, but he is set to attend the game against Oregon on Sept. 27. Finally, it's important to mention two Pennsylvania natives: Cade Cooper of Malvern Prep and Javien Robinson of McKeesport. Robinson hasn't earned an offer from Penn State yet, but he's a three-star prospect who ranks No. 232 nationally and No. 34 among receivers. He's also a teammate of Spell. Cooper earned an offer from Penn State this past summer. Unranked by any of the major recruiting websites, he played wide receiver as a sophomore but is also seeing action at safety for the first time. There's been speculation that his future at the college level is on defense, but for now he should be con- sidered an athlete. TIGHT END Penn State has extended a dozen scholarship offers to tight ends across the country. So far, eight of those pros- pects have visited State College at least once, none more than Connecticut na- tive Colt Lumpris. A 6-foot-5, 220-pound prospect, Lumpris plays at the Lawrenceville School in New Jersey and has totaled five visits to State College dating back to January 2024. Visits this fall will help One of the fastest wide receivers in the 2027 class, Matthew Gregory of Pottstown, Pa., is a high-priority target for the Nittany Lions. PHOTO COURTESY RIVALS
