NOVEMBER 2025 ❱ THE WOLVERINE 7 ❱ TACKLING ADJUSTMENTS KEY TO HOMECOMING VICTORY The return from a long bye week and a two-game suspension for head coach Sher- rone Moore came with a bit of a sleepy start for the football program. A struggling Wisconsin team starting its third-string quarterback went right down the field on its opening drive for a score due to a litany of errors and missed tackles. The Wolverines found a way to clean things up, pitching a mostly clean perfor- mance the rest of the way in their 24-10 homecoming win at the Big House. Senior linebacker Jimmy Rolder (No. 30) led the defense with 7 tackles in the victory. Through seven games, Rolder ranked second on the team with 42 total tackles, just behind classmate and captain Ernest Hausmann, who had 47. "It was all about tackling," Moore said after the game. "First of all, shout out to [defensive coordinator] Wink Martindale, the defensive staff and the players. After that first drive, we looked at it. It was tackling. It wasn't the calls. "It was tackling. It was missing tackles. And after that, I think it was 8 punts and an interception. And then a field goal at the end of the game. We did pretty good. "Tackling is what it came down to. We worked on it during 'opportunity week.' We worked on it this past week, and you can see that the emphasis on tackling helped us be successful on defense." — Anthony Broome PHOTO BY LON HORWEDEL
