32 THE WOLVERINE ❱ NOVEMBER 2025 ❱ MICHIGAN FOOTBALL "The moments you need somebody to make a play, Sully always just shows up. "It's because he's always in the right position. He's always doing his job, do- ing it right, doing it full speed, whether it's on special teams, on defense. And that was huge." Sullivan has seen more snaps since veteran Jaishawn Barham moved from inside linebacker to edge on many oc- casions starting in Big Ten play. Last year's U-M special teams rookie of the year had recorded 27 tackles (17 solo) through seven games, including 4 for loss with 2 sacks. He also had a fumble recovery and was leading the team with 3 interceptions. "Cole Sullivan feels like every time you see him, he's just making a play, and sometimes I forget how young he is," Moore said of the Pittsburgh Cen- tral Catholic product. "He just keeps making plays over and over. "It started really in spring. He just continued to be around the football. I remember in spring, he jumped up in the air, someone threw an over route, and he picked it off. It just contin- ued to happen and happen, and he just continued to make plays. "I said it in Media Day in Las Vegas that I thought he'd be a guy to have a breakout year, and he's just continued to do that. I think there's something to it … just doing your job and being in the right position helps." — Chris Balas OFFENSE Pos. No. Player Ht. Wt. Cl./Elig. Instead, he saw his playing time wane, logging only 18 snaps at receiver before the Wolverines' Oct. 4 game with Wisconsin. The team con- firmed that he had left the program be- fore the contest with the Badgers. Moore preserved a redshirt by leaving when he did and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. Sources have con- firmed he will enter the transfer portal. "Fred's thing now is, you're not a fresh- man," wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy said of Moore in August. "You played as a sophomore, and we're counting on you. You're an older guy, and the word we're chasing for him daily is 'confidence.' The more confident he is, the better player he is — and he came into camp super confident." But it didn't translate, cutting his Michi- gan career short. Moore played in 30 games in his U-M career with three starts at wide receiver, headlined by a start in the team's 16-13 win over Alabama. He caught his first career touchdown pass and notched 3 re- ceptions for 37 yards along with 2 rushes for 8 yards in the game. He managed 15 catches for 160 yards and a touchdown in his three seasons. Moore was a three-star recruit and the No. 556 overall player in the 2023 class out of St. Louis, ranking No. 82 at wide receiver according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. — Chris Balas Sophomore linebacker Cole Sullivan continues to be in the right place at the right time.
