48 THE WOLVERINE ❱ DECEMBER 2025 ❱ MICHIGAN RECRUITING NOTEBOOK "We're definitely going to make it to the playoffs," Hiter said. "We're always chasing the natty. That's the standard." At 5-foot-11, 200 pounds, Hiter is ranked as the No. 1 running back and No. 9 overall recruit nationally, per the Rivals Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 1 overall prospect in the state of Virginia. — EJ Holland EDGE COMMIT TARIQ BONEY IS READY TO SIGN Three-star Washington (D.C.) St. John's edge rusher Tariq Boney gave Michigan a verbal commitment in late April. Boney has remained completely solid over the last several months, and noth- ing has changed with the early signing period quickly approaching. "I'm 1,000 percent committed," Boney said. "I can't wait to be back. The coaches always communicate with me. We still talk a lot and go over my game film. Things are still great with Michi- gan. I'm locked in." Michigan defensive line coach Lou Esposito led the way in Boney's recruit- ment and is still in constant communi- cation. "He tells me to keep playing fast and to keep being the leader that I am," Boney said. "He calls me every week. We talk and chop it up. He also talks to my family. We just have a really good relationship." Boney has not been to a Michigan game this fall, but he is looking to re- turn to Ann Arbor for the game against Ohio State. For now, Boney is watching as many Michigan games as he can. Overall, the talented pass rusher has been impressed with U-M's season and the defense. "They are holding up strong," Boney said. "They have a bend-but-don't- break mentality. It was a tough game at USC, but I was glad we bounced back against Washington. I really like the way the defense is playing." Boney is also doing some recruiting for Michigan. The Wolverines recently extended an offer to his teammate, three-star Virginia Tech offensive tackle commit Adrian Hamilton. Boney would love to continue playing with him at the next level. "I'm recruiting him a lot," Boney said. "I'm trying to put Michigan in his head every day. I just tell him he has to come home. He's a great guy. He's really strong. He has really good feet. He's just a dawg. You see it on the field." Boney will sign with U-M in Decem- ber but won't enroll until June. Boney has a few games remaining this season and is focused on closing his se- nior season strong. After that, he's go- ing to do whatever he can to prepare for Michigan. "I'm just going to keep my head down and work," Boney said. "I'm going to stay in the weight room. I'm going to try to get the playbook early and go over that. I'm excited to get there." At 6-foot-1, 230 pounds, Boney is ranked as the No. 66 edge and No. 620 overall recruit nationally, per the Rivals Industry Ranking. — EJ Holland U-M LEAVES LASTING IMPRESSION ON FEISTER FAMILY The weekend of Nov. 1 was a special one for the Feister family. Four-star Akron (Ohio) Archbishop Hoban linebacker Brayton Feister, his younger brother, Brydon, and their fa- ther, Bo, all took in Michigan's win over Purdue in The Big House. "It's Michigan," Bo said. "There is a lot of history. Of course, there are very high expectations. I think all of those expectations were met — the stadium, the staff, the facilities and even the strength coach and nutritionist. I was very impressed." Boney, a solid U-M commitment and the nation's No. 66 edge, plans to visit Ann Arbor for the Ohio State game. PHOTO BY EJ HOLLAND
