JANUARY 2026 ❱ THE WOLVERINE 29 ❱ MICHIGAN FOOTBALL While several teams, including Notre Dame, turned down bowl bids, Michi- gan is embracing the opportunity for development. The 15 practices will help them prepare for next season, of course, including development for freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood. "For us to be the team we need to be, you need to practice football, and you need to play football," Moore said. "You need to have those competitive atmo- spheres, that physicality to get back to where we need to be. We know where we are right now is not where we want to be, but that's where we're at. "Our team is excited about the chal- lenge ahead, because it's going to be a great opponent. But these practices are so important. You take them all, and you want them, and you need them. It's only going to help us in the long run." As of Dec. 10, Texas was a 5-point fa- vorite on average to beat the Wolverines. — Chris Balas 21 WOLVERINES EARN ALL-BIG TEN HONORS U-M had 21 football players named among the All-Big Ten honorees with the defensive/special teams and of- fensive nods revealed on Dec. 3 and 4, respectively.
