JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2026 ■ 13 TRACKING THE PACK PACK PERFORMERS Sadie Engelhardt, Women's Cross Country Engelhardt was named ACC Freshman of the Year following a standout performance at the league championship meet on Oct. 31 at Louisville, Ky. The first-year harrier from Ventura, Calif., was the top freshman finisher in the 6-kilometer race, placing 10th overall and fifth among NC State's athletes with a time of 19:45.5. At the NCAA Championship meet on Nov. 22 in Columbia, Mo., Engelhardt was part of a national-title-winning performance by the Wolfpack, placing 51st overall and fifth on the team with a personal-best time of 19:32.4. Engelhardt helped the Pack outdistance BYU for its fourth team title in five years. Donavan Phillip, Men's Soccer Phillip and sophomore teammate Nikola Markovic became the first NC State players since Scott Schweitzer in 1992 to earn first- team All-America honors when they were saluted by the United Soccer Coaches on Dec. 12. Phillip, a junior forward from Castries, Saint Lucia, was one of the catalysts behind the Wolfpack's sprint to the College Cup, leading the country with 19 goals. He scored 4 goals in the NCAA Tournament — one apiece versus Marshall, UNC Greensboro, Saint Louis and Washington. In addition to Phillip and Markovic, NC State senior goalkeeper Logan Erb received second-team All-America honors. Khamil Pierre, Women's Basketball Pierre transferred from Vanderbilt this past summer and has been a standout for the Wolfpack in her first season in Ra- leigh. Through NC State's first 12 games, the 6-foot-2 junior forward from Phoenix was leading the country with an average of 12.7 rebounds per game. In addition, she was leading the Pack in scoring at 14.5 points per game. Pierre played one of her best games in NC State's ACC opener at Miami on Dec. 14, totaling 21 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the floor and pulling down 13 rebounds in the Pack's 87-61 win. It was her seventh double-double of the season. Isaac Trumble, Wrestling At the start of the wrestling season, Trum- ble was still working his way back from a knee injury that he suffered during the 2025 NCAA Tournament. Although he was ranked second in the 285-pound class, he didn't make his season debut until NC State met Rutgers on Dec. 7 at Fuquay-Varina, N.C. Facing the Scarlet Knights' 20th-ranked Hunter Catka, Trumble posted a 9-1 major decision to finish off a 27-11 dual-meet win for the Pack. Then in his second match, the sixth-year senior from Springfield, Neb., earned a 5-1 decision over third-ranked Nick Feldman of Ohio State on Dec. 12 in Columbus, Ohio.
