He supports Olympic-level collegiate and professional swimmers with their branding and name, image and likeness opportunities. In essence, he is assist- ing the development of the next gen- eration of athletes in all 60 Olympic and Paralympic sports in building their athletic careers and preparing for life after competition. Recently selected to the North Caro- lina Sports Hall of Fame with other NC State pioneers Rollie Geiger and Nora Lynn Finch, Jones credits his success and all of his accomplishments to his decision long ago to move south from his native New Jersey to North Carolina. "I became the best version of my- self by coming to North Carolina and pursuing my dreams," Jones said at his induction celebration. "North Carolina is home." ■ Jones was named to the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame in December 2024 alongside two fellow Wolfpack greats — longtime track and field coach Rollie Geiger and former women's basketball assistant coach and ACC administrator Nora Lynn Finch. NC State athletics has three accomplished "Leaplings," those born on Feb. 29: former football head coach Monte Kiffin, retired basketball player and newly appointed Wolfpack men's basketball radio announcer Chucky Brown and Jones.
