154 ■ THE WOLVERINE 2026 FOOTBALL PREVIEW BY ETHAN MCDOWELL M ichigan's 2027 recruiting class is filling up quickly with 16 com- mits already pledged to the pro- gram through mid-June. The Wolverines will take a focused approach to the rest of this recruiting cycle with eyes on a few major recruiting battles for Rivals Top 100 prospects. With the target board shrinking by the day, here's a look at 10 of the program's most-wanted recruits to round out the cycle. Five-star CB Joshua Dobson Michigan hosted Dobson, the No. 6 re- cruit in the country, on an official visit June 12-14, and that trip went well. The Wolverines continue to pitch the nation's No. 2 cornerback on what the program has to offer on and off the field and have done everything they can to win this re- cruitment battle. He and his family re- main receptive to that pitch, and U-M continues to close the gap on Texas A&M and South Carolina. Dobson has a tenta- tive July 1 commitment date planned. The Gamecocks host him June 19 to wrap up his official visit schedule, and don't count them out. However, Michigan is build- ing a lot of positive momentum here with North Carolina's top-ranked recruit out of Hough High in Cornelius. Top 100 WR Dakota Guerrant Guerrant is rapidly approaching his s u m m e r c o m m i t - ment date, with Or- egon as the clear team to beat. He's the No. 1 recruit in Michigan out of Harper Woods High and the No. 38 recruit and No. 7 wide receiver in the country. Michigan has put together a full-court press for the first- team MaxPreps Junior All-American over the past six months, but the Ducks will be tough to beat going into his decision. With that said, expect the Wolverines to push until signing day. If U-M's offense shows improvement, especially in the passing game, then the program should still have a shot to eventually land the elite pass catcher. For now, he appears Oregon bound. Top 100 CB Monsanna Torbert Torbert, a former Indiana commit, reopened his recruit- ment this spring after his offer list blew up. Michigan and Ohio State are the top two schools to keep an eye on right now. The Wolverines host him June 19-21, one weekend after his two- day stay with the Buckeyes. Ohio State grabbed the momentum during his June 12-14 visit and now leads his recruitment. He's the No. 70 recruit in the country out of Cincinnati Princeton High and an extremely versatile defensive back who could play pretty much anywhere in the secondary. His Victors Weekend official visit will be pivotal for the Wolverines. He's the No. 10 cornerback in the class and the No. 3 recruit in Ohio. Rivals300 DL Seth Tillman Tillman has a firm July 11 commitment date set with a top five of Michigan, South Carolina, Clemson, Kentucky and Geor- g i a i n co n te n t i o n . The Wolverines held the momentum for the No. 116 recruit in the country going into what has been a very fluid recruitment with the Rock Hill (S.C.) South Pointe High standout. Georgia looked like the team to beat for most of this year, but Clemson is U-M's strongest competition down the stretch. The Tigers are quickly building momen- tum. Michigan left a huge impression on his official visit and will try to maintain that momentum going into his decision. Tillman is the No. 11 defensive lineman in the country. Rivals300 S Marcus Jones Michigan offered Jones this spring and started to prioritize one of the top rising Most Wanted The Top 10 Prospects On Michigan's 2027 Board Joshua Dobson of Cornelius, N.C., is ranked as the No. 6 overall prospect and No. 2 cornerback nationally by Rivals.
