The matchup at Purcell Pavilion will be Feb. 8, while the Irish will finish the regular season March 3 in Chapel Hill, N.C. Syracuse will host the Irish at the Carrier Dome on ESPN's Big Monday Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. on ESPN. The Irish will face off with Georgia Tech, Virginia and former Big East rival Boston College twice during the regular season. North Carolina State, Virginia Tech, Clemson and fellow ACC newcomer Pittsburgh round out Notre Dame's ACC home schedule. Brey will return to his home state of Maryland Jan. 15, when the Irish travel to play the Terrapins for their second-ever ACC road game. One potential advantage in the Irish schedule is the 10-day gap between the regular-season finale at North Carolina and the first round of the ACC Tournament in Greensboro, N.C. In non-conference play, Notre Dame's first game away from Purcell Pavilion will be Dec. 3 at Iowa in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, which will be broadcast on ESPN2. "Our game against Iowa is going to provide our veteran squad a gauge as to where we are at as a team early in the month of December," Brey told UND.com. "[The Hawkeyes] are coming off a great season, and [head coach] Fran McCaffery [has a] terrific group of returnees. It will be a great environment for us to play in that night."
