The Pinstripe Bowl is held at Yankee Stadium, familiar and friendly grounds for Notre Dame football, and Big Plays (25 Yards Or More) Stanford • 2-2 STAN43 Hogan pass complete to Cajuste for 36 yards to the ND21 Notre Dame None Play Chart (No. of Plays) Yards (-) Yards 0-5 Yards 6-9 Yards 10-19 Yards 20-29 Yards 30-39 Yards 40-49 Yards 50 or more Yards STANND 4 7 37 32 14 4 10 12 3 3 1 0 0 0 0 0 it has the biggest purse and market. It's also the only real scenario where snow and cold weather are a possibility, if not a likelihood. "Everybody kind of wants to go some place warm, but that's not really our call," said Bennett Jackson, a senior cornerback and native of nearby Hazlet, N.J. "If we go to the Pinstripe Bowl, cool. I have plenty of family and friends out there, but I just want to go somewhere where everybody can have fun. I just want to be able to play great competition and be able to enjoy my last game with all my brothers." The Irish bowl picture will sort itself out by Dec. 8. Other considerations will be the payout, the opponent, and possibly finding a region to showcase the team in front of fans and future recruits. The consensus in Palo Alto, Calif., was first and foremost a group that wanted a last chance to wash the taste Miscellaneous Notes • Senior wide receiver TJ Jones led the Irish with six catches for 56 yards and a touchdown. His performance gave him a total of 1,042 yards on the season, which moves him into eighth place in the Irish record book for single-season receiving yards. He also has receptions in a school-record 39 consecutive games. He had at least two catches in 35 of those games. • Sophomore defensive lineman Jarron Jones started at nose guard for Notre Dame against the Cardinal. He was the 18th different player to start a game for the injury-riddled Irish defense this season. • Notre Dame safeties Eilar Hardy, a junior, and Elijah Shumate, a sophomore, did not travel to California with the team. Head coach Brian Kelly said they stayed in South Bend after violating team rules. Both have been regular contributors, if not starters, during the month of November. • Notre Dame junior center Nick Martin traveled with the team despite a torn ligament in his knee that kept him out of action. Martin tore his medial collateral ligament during the second quarter of the win over BYU. Junior Matt Hegarty started in his place. • Freshman wide receiver Torii Hunter Jr. made the travel roster for the first time this season thanks in part to the open seats left by Shumate and Hardy. Hunter broke his femur last January and did not play this fall while returning to full strength. Kelly regularly brings a few redshirting freshmen on road trips to give them a taste of the atmosphere during away games. • Notre Dame ran 24 times against Stanford for a total of 64 yards, its lowest output of the season.
