Teams In The NCAA College Cup

Hodan crossed two defenders in
front of the Michigan State net and
then fired a low shot just inside the
post for what head coach Bobby Clark
called "a beauty of a goal" and the
eventual game-winner that sent Notre
Dame to its first College Cup in program history.
Hodan and his teammates beat the
Spartans 2-1 on a frozen night in South
Bend on Dec. 7 to advance to the national semifinals in Philadelphia on
Dec. 13. The Irish have made several
runs to the NCAA quarterfinals under Clark, but never made the leap
to the season's final weekend until
now. When they get there, they'll find
a familiar group of opponents to make
them feel at home.
