and an understanding of situations to the point men.
"Good guards have to understand time, score and situation," he said. "Derrick
has been making great gains in that area — understanding where the game is,
managing it, and having the poise and composure.
"He can make plays. He's got the ability, in terms of skill level. Now it's similar to
what Trey and Darius had to understand. What does the situation call for in the
moment? That's tougher when you're younger.
"The good thing is, if it's a night where Derrick may not be seeing quite what he
need him to see, Spike can go in and give us that."
