Hoke and Brandon agreed Nussmeier will help move Michigan's
football program forward. It needs
to head that direction, Brandon
stressed, following a disappointing
7-6 season.
"That's not Michigan," Brandon
emphasized. "Again, we feel good
that we had a bunch of good young
players and were close, almost there
in a lot of games, but we're not where
we need or want to be, where the
fans want to be, and more importantly not where the coaches and
kids want to be.
"We need to get Michigan back to
where we all want to be, competing for championships, and being
involved in big national games with
national importance. That's what
we're about, doing everything we
can do to move in that direction."
