Wide receiver Jeremy Gallon hauled in 89 receptions for a school-record 1,373 yards and nine touchdowns in his final campaign at Michigan. photo by per kjeldsen "He's a guy who works awfully hard," U-M head coach Brady Hoke said. "He's very tough as an individual, has great instincts when catching the ball, catching it with his hands. He has an innate ability to go up for balls over guys that are much taller than he is. "He's probably one of the toughest guys on the football team. You watch him block. It's amazing to watching him get down the field and block." U-M wide receivers coach Jeff Hecklinski has repeatedly marveled over what Gallon accomplished. It was Hecklinski who first pointed out that Gallon lifts with Michigan's offensive linemen, because of how he's developed his strength. Gallon would have given up some numbers to achieve a higher level of team success, especially the past two years. He noted after the bowl game the records didn't mean much to him, in that moment. They will, of course, as time moves on and the hurts heal. When they do, he'll understand he came into Michigan under one coaching staff, left under another, and along the way became one of the top targets ever to pull on a winged helmet, and Michigan's Most Valuable Player in 2013.
