Darboh has all the tools, while Chesson (221 yards and one touchdown in 2013) caught a bomb at Michigan State and should be more of a factor when he gets stronger. "He's a speedster, and you want to get him more opportunities," Butler said. Incoming freshmen Drake Harris and Freddie Canteen will enroll early in their quest for playing time, but it's a huge step from high school, Butler noted. "It's really hard," he said. "I tell everyone, not everybody is a Mike Hart. He was unbelievable. It's very hard for a freshman to adapt to the speed of the game, the hitting, playing against grown men." Even some of the best, including David Terrell, John Kolesar, Braylon Edwards and Mario Manningham, didn't put up huge numbers as freshmen. All of the young guys will get their chance, however, on a corps that seems to be adding size and speed. "The guys got beat up a little," Butler said. "Now they know what to expect. I'm anxious to see what they can do next year." ❑
