◆ April 20, 1997 — The men's lacrosse team won its
first ACC Tournament title with a 12-6 victory over Duke.
The program has officially claimed 17 ACC crowns with six
coming by way of tournament victory.
◆ April 18, 2004 — The men's tennis program cap-
tured its first ACC Tournament title, and would go on
to win eight of the next nine crowns. The 2004 title also
marked the first of 10 straight regular-season crowns — a
streak that the Cavs will try to extend this year.

American defensive end CHRIS
LONG was drafted second over-
all by the St. Louis Rams. He was
the highest defensive draft pick in
school history and second only to
former running back Bill Dudley,
who was taken first overall in the
1942 draft.
