lished relationships. We had that before the rest of the country knew how good they were going to end up being. All along, we kept the lines of com- munication open and trusted in the relationships that we had established." In addition to the two five-star signees, UVa's 17-member class also boasts two four-star players in wide receiver Jamil Kamara and offensive line- man Steven Moss. Kamara, a 6-2, 210-pound wideout from Vir- ginia Beach, helped lead Bishop Sullivan Catholic to a perfect 12-0 record and the Virginia Indepen- dent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) Divi- sion II state title as a senior. On his way to earn- ing an invitation to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, he caught 69 passes for 1,399 yards and 23 touchdowns while helping Bishop Sullivan win its first state championship. "He's got good size, he runs well, and he's a competitor," Farrell said of Kamara, who is the country's No. 17 wide receiver and No. 123 over- all recruit according to Rivals.com. "He'll fight for the football, and he's the type of guy who makes a quarterback look a little better because he'll adjust to balls and make plays. He's just starting to scratch the surface. "At Bishop Sullivan, he didn't play great com- petition, but when you see him in these camp set- tings with the best players in the country or at the Army Bowl, he just fits right in. You can tell that he has tremendous ability. If you want to talk about a position that UVa needs help at immediately, it's wide receiver and it's a physical wide receiver like Jamil can be." Moss, a 6-5, 275-pound lineman from Chancel- lor High School in Fredericksburg, played both of- fensive guard and offensive tackle for the Chargers in addition to playing on the defensive line, where he racked up 38 tackles and 2.5 sacks. He was both a Semper Fidelis All-American and a 2014 U.S. Under-19 National Team participant in addition to being named a two-time first-team all-state public school selection. Rivals.com ranks Moss as the No. 18 offensive guard in the land. "I thought he showed a lot of leadership out there during the Semper Fi Bowl," Farrell said. "Steven has a lot of ability. He's physical. When it comes to composure, once he learns to set himself and not be a bull in a china shop where he's guess- ing as to what his opponent is going to do, when he gets that coaching, he could be a very good player. That's why we have him as a four-star player and a four-star guy should be an all-conference player. "I think he's going to be a good guard prospect for them, I think he'll play angry and I think he'll get good coaching," Farrell added. London said that Kamara and Moss are both top-end recruits who the Cavaliers had to have in this class. "Steven is very confident in himself and in his abilities, and he's a guy from a blue-collar family that plays the game that way," London said. "He's a tough, rugged guy, and that's what you want in any offensive lineman. "Usually you see the five-star guys go to the perennial powers and the schools that are constantly winning national championships or have the biggest and best facilities. UVa, to get two in-state kids to stay home regardless of the off-field success, is really, really rare."
