football weekend. He would fill the hole of a versatile big man that the Irish need to compete in the ACC. Ryan and Burns have both discussed their desire to recruit the Irish targets to South Bend. "Definitely," Ryan said. "I know they're high on a couple play- ers — Jalen Coleman and Levan Alston. I'm going to try and get in touch with those guys and see if I can per- suade them." As of now, Notre Dame has one remain- ing scholarship to fill in the 2015 recruiting class. That, however, could change if junior Eric Katenda is placed on a medical schol- arship. Knee issues have slowed the 6-9, 230-pound forward for quite some time now. The coaching staff is monitoring his progress to see if he can continue his playing career. If a second scholarship becomes avail- able, Notre Dame would like to add one guard and one forward to the mix in this class. If the Irish have their way, it will be Coleman and Sehic. SOME SCHEDULING DETAILS ANNOUNCED While Notre Dame's full 2014-15 schedule is not expected to be released until early September, some dates and television details have begun to trickle out during the past month. Notre Dame's Dec. 3 home matchup with Michigan State in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge will tip off at 7:15 p.m. ET on ESPN2. The game with Tom Izzo's Spar- tans marks the first between the two schools since 1979, when Michigan State defeated Notre Dame in the NCAA Tournament on its way to a national championship. The Irish lead the all-time series 59-35. In its inaugural ACC- Big Ten Challenge matchup last season, Notre Dame lost 98-93 at Iowa. ESPN has released its full slate of "Big Mon- day" matchups for the upcoming season, with the Irish included once on the schedule. Notre Dame's Jan. 5 trip to North Carolina will be televised at 7 p.m. on either ESPN or ESPN2. The Irish concluded the 2013-14 regular season in Chapel Hill, N.C., with a 63-61 loss to the Tar Heels March 3. Dates for the other 17 ACC matchups have yet to be finalized. The Irish are ru- mored to hold one December conference home game before the non-conference slate concludes. In conference play, Notre Dame will host Florida State, Miami, Wake Forest, Virginia and Syracuse. The Irish will travel to North Carolina, North Caro- lina State, Virginia Tech, ACC newcomer Louisville and Pittsburgh, while par- ticipating in home-and-home matchups with Duke, Clemson, Boston College and Georgia Tech. ✦ Three-star center Samir Sehic of Cypress, Texas, is at the top of Notre Dame's wish list for frontcourt recruits this year, and he will visit the South Bend campus Sept. 29.
