UNDER THE DOME
Brown's catch total represents the lowest total for the
top returning Irish player in a new season since 2002,
when junior Omar Jenkins' seven was the highest
career output.
325
Highest weight
total on Notre
Dame's 2014
team, which is shared by three play-
ers — all freshmen, an unusual oc-
currence. Offensive tackle QUEN-
TO N N E L S O N and defensive
linemen Daniel Cage and Peter
Mokwuah are all listed at that
number. Last year 's heaviest
freshman, offensive guard John
Montelus, checked in at 340 but is
down to 310 this fall.
326-107-5
All-time record
in Notre Dame
Stadium, starting in 1930, on a grass field, a .750
winning percentage. The 439th game, versus Rice
Aug. 30, will mark the first time it will be on a dif-
ferent surface at home.
1903
The most recent year, until now, in
which none of Notre Dame's first
six games were played on the home campus of its
opponent. Four of the first six Fighting Irish games
this year are at home, and the first two road contests
are at Indianapolis versus Purdue (Sept. 13) in the
Shamrock Series and Sept. 27 in East Rutherford, N.J.,
against Syracuse. The first on-campus road game won't
be until Oct. 18 at No. 1 Florida State.
