and it was my first time around. Two
years later, it's completely different. It's
a 180 in that respect."
It was this summer, with coaches
shackled by NCAA practice restrictions
and players left to organize workouts on
their own, that Golson felt like he was
finally in control. He said orchestrating
the seven-on-seven passing drills with
other veterans made him more comfort-
able calling the shots.
Golson takes that mantle from de-
parted starter Tommy Rees for the sec-
ond time in his career. In 2012, Golson
Golson's overall understanding of the offensive philosophy and what the Irish are trying to accomplish
with the ball was a major factor in him eventually winning the starting QB job.
