the majority of his opportunities, his
teammates had not carved out any
lanes for him to use or blocked the
punting team downfield.
"We have done a lot of work on the
breakdown of individual pieces of
[special teams]," Kelly said. "We have
done less unit work than any time I've
been a head coach and more specific
work on the fundamentals and iden-
tifying those guys we want on those
teams. True, competitive drill work.
Notre Dame may look to utilize sophomore running back Greg Bryant's game-breaking athleticism to
spark the punt return unit.
