SEPTEMBER 2014 ■ 75 ■ FOOTBALL RECRUITING The lone known interior lineman on the board is T.J. McCoy, a 6-2, 320-pounder from Groveland (Fla.) South Lake High. Although rated two stars by Rivals.com, McCoy impressed at State's summer camp in June and earned an offer. He could play center or guard in college. Rutgers, South Florida, Navy and Florida Atlantic have also offered McCoy. McCoy's father Tony was a first-team All-SEC and honorable mention All-Amer- ican defensive lineman on Florida's 1991 SEC title-winning team and played nine years in the NFL. Defensive Line Two high-profile, four-star defensive linemen from the state of North Caro- lina are closing in on their decisions, and NCSU is a finalist for both of them. Darian Roseboro, a 6-4, 285-pounder from Lincolnton High, has a final six of Alabama, Clemson, Michigan, NC State, Tennessee and UNC. He was scheduled to announce his choice Aug. 29. He could play either defensive end or tackle in college. Rivals.com rates Rose- boro as the No. 6 interior defensive line- man in the country, the No. 42 player in the class regardless of position and the top player from the state. He had 125 tackles, 21 stops for loss, 10 sacks and seven passes broken up last year. Shy Tuttle is a 6-2, 310-pounder from North Davidson High in Lexington. Al- though he technically has a top five that includes Clemson and Miami, the three schools widely thought to be at the top of his list are NC State, Tennessee and UNC. Most believe that Tennessee leads the way. Tuttle will unveil his decision Sept. 26. Rivals.com rates Tuttle as the second- best player from the state, the No. 8 de- fensive tackle in the class and the No. 57 overall recruit nationally. NCSU has at least three other defensive linemen on the board besides Roseboro and Tuttle. Raleigh Millbrook defensive end Kengera Daniel (6-5, 250 pounds) was a recent offer. The Pack joined his recruit- ment on July 25 when he came for a camp. Daniel is teammates with Pack commit and linebacker James Smith-Williams and run- ning back target Marcus Marshall. With colleges allowed to make official written offers to seniors starting Aug. 1, Daniel has been tendered by East Carolina, Kentucky, Louisville, NC State, Virginia and Wake Forest. "After the first or second game I'll start figuring out who really wants me and who doesn't," Daniel noted. "Then after that I'll finally decide.
