UNDER THE DOME 92.4 Plays run per game by the 1970 Notre Dame team during the 10-game regular season — still the NCAA record for most in one year. Per CBSSports.com's Jon Solomon, 10 teams ran more than 90 plays in the first week of games in 2014: Northern Illinois (109), USC (105), Texas A&M (99), Hawaii (97), Western Kentucky (96), Nevada (96), TCU (96), Arizona (94), North Carolina (93) and Nebraska (91). 318 Yards passing by 2010-13 Notre Dame reserve quarterback and graduate Andrew Hendrix in his Aug. 30 debut at Miami (Ohio), where he is using his fifth season of eligibility in 2014. The passing total in the 42-27 loss to Marshall nearly matched his career total of 360 yards at Notre Dame. He completed 24 of 49 passes for the RedHawks after going 25 of 59 in his career at Notre Dame. He also tossed three scoring passes compared to one with the Irish. 5 Players for Notre Dame that rushed for at least 40 yards against Rice, with sophomores TAREAN FOLSTON and Greg Bryant leading the way with 71 apiece, followed by sopho- more quarterback Malik Zaire (58), senior quarterback Ev- erett Golson (41) and senior running back Cam McDan- iel (40). That hasn't hap- pened since head coach Lou Holtz's final season, a 48-21 win at Boston College on Nov. 9, 1996. PHOTO BY BILL PANZICA
