GAME PREVIEW: PURDUE
BY LOU SOMOGYI
DECISION DAY NEAR?
The Sept. 13 Purdue game will mark
nearly one month since the Aug. 15 an-
nouncement that four Notre Dame play-
ers would be separated from the team
(with a fifth added nearly two weeks
later) until an academic investigation
and then a hearing from the school's
Honor Committee would take place.
The investigation was completed
a few days before the Aug. 30 Rice
opener, but as of Sept. 4 everything
remained status quo.
Head coach Brian Kelly said he was
told on Labor Day (Sept. 1) that the
hearings of the five players — fifth-
year senior linebacker Kendall Moore,
senior wide receiver DaVaris Daniels,
senior defensive end Ishaq Williams,
senior safety Eilar Hardy and junior
cornerback KeiVarae Russell would
"take place very quickly."

Playing against Notre Dame always seems to bring out the best in Purdue. Last year, wide receiver C.J.
Prosise and the Fighting Irish recorded a 31-24 victory in West Lafayette, Ind., but had their hands full
with a Boilermakers team that went on to finish 1-11.
