UNDER THE DOME
AMIR CARLISLE 'QUESTIONABLE' FOR STANFORD
Senior slot receiver Amir Carlisle, the second-leading pass catcher through
the first three games (11 receptions for 117 yards and two touchdowns),
suffered an MCL strain early during the 30-14 victory over Purdue Sept. 13
and remains questionable for the Stanford game Oct. 4, per Irish head coach
Brian Kelly.
The injury was compared somewhat to the one incurred by fifth-year
senior safety Austin Collinsworth two days before the Aug. 30 Rice opener.
Recovery for Collinsworth was put in the two- to four-week category, and he
was cleared to play Sept. 27 versus Syracuse.
On Sept. 22, Carlisle had his second Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment
and would be further evaluated the week of the Stanford game.
Taking his place at slot are junior C.J. Prosise and sophomore Torii Hunter
Jr., who was sidelined in August and the first three games while recovering
from a groin tear. Hunter was the 2013 Scout Team Offensive Player of The
Year.
