Trailing 30-14, Jackson leads what at the time is the biggest Irish comeback win ever on its home turf. Jackson completes 15 of 21 passes for 276 yards and two touchdowns, and adds 15 carries for 107 yards and another score. Flanker Joey Getherall catches six passes for 133 yards, highlighted by a 58-yard score. Tailback Tony Fisher's 26 carries net 140 yards. The victory snaps Notre Dame's three-game losing streak and improves third-year head coach Bob Davie's Irish to 2-3. 5 Years Ago: Oct. 3, 2009 Notre Dame makes three goal-line stands in its 37-30 overtime victory versus Washington. In the third quarter, head coach Steve Sarkisian's Huskies have a third-and-goal at the Irish 1, but two quarterback sneaks by Jake Locker fall short. Then in the fourth quarter with Washington leading 24-22, it has a first-and-goal at the 1, but the next three plays net one lost yard. A roughing-the-snapper penalty on a field-goal attempt leads to a new set of downs for the Huskies at the 1 — but Washington is forced to kick a field goal again on fourth down to take a 27-22 lead instead of 31-22. — Lou Somogyi UNDER THE DOME Want to stay up-to-date with all the Irish news?
