Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg dropped to one knee, tripped up by Ohio State defensive end Joey Bosa, finishing the Nittany Lions on fourth-and-5. The Beaver Stadium crowd of 107,895 fans was emotionally spent, gassed from the Nittany Lions' disappointing 31-24 double-overtime loss to No. 13 Ohio State on Saturday night. They stayed anyway. The Buckeyes had scored 50 or more points in their previ- ous four games but managed only 17 in the first four quarters vs. Penn State. BAD NEWS The of- fensive line was over- matched, and the punting was a prob- lem all night long. But no one had a worse night than the offici- ating crew. Its gaffes led directly to 10 Buckeye points. THE TAKEAWAY The Nittany Lions simply don't yet have enough experienced players to close the deal against an elite oppo- nent.
