as Coach Bennett has a plan, which I know he does, I'm going to follow that plan." Randolph, like Anderson, has a similar mindset. "I just feel like when you get you opportunity, you just need to take advantage of it — whether you're starting or you're coming off the bench," she said. "You just need to bring whatever you can to the team and help get that win, so it doesn't really matter." Women's basketball head coach Joanne Boyle said Randolph coming off the bench last year wasn't because she wasn't good enough to start. "What Faith got to do last year was watch, then go in and really be a spark. She really paid attention from the bench. She wasn't just on the bench saying, 'OK, when am I going in?' She paid attention and was then able to go in and make a difference. "That role is tough because you've got to either help maintain the level of play that's going on out there or you've got to take it to another level. The thing you can't do is go backward. But last season, in just 1.9 minutes more of play- ing time per game, she averaged 11.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.4 steals. Randolph shot 42 percent, including 28 percent from behind the arc. Randolph led all ACC bench players in scoring and was second in steals. Boyle said Randolph's work ethic is what allowed her to make such a leap. "She loves the game," Boyle said. "She goes hard in our practices. She's a very devoted player. And her actions and her words walk hand in hand. She Last season, Randolph was tabbed as the ACC's Sixth Player of the Year after averaging 11.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.4 steals per game. PHOTO BY MATT RILEY/COURTESY UVA
