Lions ;oundered at the end of that season, dropping 11 of their last 15 games, but they began turning things around the fol- lowing year, and thanks to players like Alex Bentley and Maggie Lucas, they even- tually transformed themselves into the Big Ten's best team, winning three con- secutive regular-season titles. Maybe this year will be remembered as the low point in another cycle. But there's a long way to go before Penn State can start thinking once again about contending for titles. It was still tinkering with its starting lineup even as the season was nearing its end. Against 12th-seeded In- diana, a team they had defeated seven times in a row, including a 79-75 victory at the Bryce Jordan Center in January, the Lady Lions used their ninth starting lineup of the season, giving sophomore forward Jenny DeGraaf her :rst start of the year. DeGraaf only played eight minutes, but several other players stepped into starring roles. Sierra Moore :nished with 18 points, while Kaliyah Mitchell had a double-dou- ble: 13 points and a game-high 10 re- bounds. As a team, Penn State outre- bounded the Hoosiers 40-29. "We're a very competitive team," said Moore, the only Penn State player to start all 30 games this season. "So we always come out :ghting, and we're going to :ght to the end, win or lose. And I think that's what we had. We just came up short." Now that the season is over, the Lady Lions can begin looking ahead to 2015- 16.
