FIVE QUESTIONS
REDSHIRT
SECOND-YEAR
LINEBACKER
MICAH KISER
CAVALIER CORNER: You were re-
cruited out of high school to play in a
certain type of defense, but Jon Tenuta
arrived with his style before you offi-
cially joined the program. What sort of
things do you like about Tenuta's aggres-
sive scheme?
KISER: "The defense that [UVa] plays
now is actually the same exact one that I
ran when I was in high school, so picking
it up for me wasn't hard at all.
"I like that I had already done a lot of
those things before, and the fact that we
play really aggressive and don't let of-
fenses dictate what we're going to do."
CAVALIER CORNER: You spent two
years behind a great leader at middle
linebacker in Henry Coley; what sort of
things did you learn from him about the
position and how to be a better player?
KISER: "I learned [from Coley] all
about the preparation and what it takes to
be good. Henry knew everything on the
defense, he knew where everyone was
supposed to be, and I really tried to take
that role on this summer.
"I've been trying to get to know what
the safeties are doing, what the defensive
linemen are doing, and hopefully that
will help me out a lot this year."
