FROM OUR READERS to the NCAA Tournament hosting George Washington University. Former U-M assistant Amanda Ault is the Colonials' head coach. She is assisted by Erin Moore, Michigan's first volleyball All-American. Wel- come them back to Cliff Keen on Aug. 28. Go Blue! Jim Supance Tiffin, Ohio The harbinger of autumn has arrived. Thanks, Jim. SEEKING STATS IN PREVIEW Dear The Wolverine: I am reading my 2015 Football Preview issue. I also noticed you have omitted "Michigan Football Annual Results." So in reading The Wolverine, I noticed your reason for not printing them anymore is that most people can get the information off the Internet. Well, I am sure there are plenty of people such as myself (68 years old) who don't know anything about the Internet (at least I hope). Just an idea. I have my 2014 Football Preview issue, which gives me the scores from 1879-2013, and I do refer to it a lot. What about starting at 2014, 2015, etc.? Anyway, I cannot wait for Jim Harbaugh & Company to take the Blue back to the top. And if anyone can do it, this group of coaches — plus their 2015-2016-2017 commits — can. Go Blue. Ron Bennett Highland Beach, Fla. Thanks for the suggestion, Ron. At the very least, the records over the next few years should be a little easier on the eyes, wherever you find them. • For the [Jake] Rudock dubious, this might make you feel a little better. Here's what an NFL GM said about a certain 6-3 QB upon drafting him: "Other than the same basic body type — 6-foot-3, 215 pounds — he has few of the gifts of a John Elway. He can't spin away from a rushing linebacker, run to his left and throw a football 60 yards across his body. He probably couldn't do that if he ran to his right. "He's not one of those guys — big, athletic, strong arm — that everybody can see has all the God-given ability. But he's not undersized or under-equipped, ei- ther. He's a solid-sized quarterback with excellent physical tools. He's capable of avoiding the rush and making plays on his own. He's not a scrambler, but when things change, and the play needs some improvisation, he has the instinct and the ability to do that, and he's still got … sharp reflexes. "Then on top of all that, he's very poised. From what we've seen so far, there's nothing about the game itself that's going to rattle him. He makes good deci- sions. He looks like he's got all the qualities to be a poised starter. From Our Website
