FOOTBALL RECRUITING
the course of the event. Upper Marl-
boro (Md.) Riverdale Baptist three-
star cornerback Sir Patrick Scott was
open heading into the trip, but the 6-1,
170-pounder saw enough to pull the
trigger while on campus.
"I got up there, and I took a tour of
all the facilities and campus," Scott
said. "The architecture on campus

really liked how it all looked and felt.
I got to see where the freshmen would
be staying, and everything just looked
really nice to me."
His addition made it 10 pledges

"The Barbecue was a real good
time," Johnson said. "I got to see a lot
of recruits that I hadn't seen before, I
got to sit down with them. I talked to
the coaches. We had a good time chat-
ting it up about football.
"The coaches sat down with our
parents. The recruits were with our
position coaches. They were going
over schemes and things like that."
Often the forgotten man in the 2016
class, Downers Grove (Ill.) South
offensive lineman Erik Swenson
actually got the ball rolling for the
group. The four-star broke the seal
on pledges Nov. 25, 2013, and he is
still the second-highest ranked com-
mitment in the class; he is listed as
