FOOTBALL RECRUITING "I know Notre Dame is a great school," said Mond, who is committed to Baylor. "I know they preach educa- tion, and that they have a great edu- cation system there. Even though I'm committed to Baylor, nothing is official until I sign. I think Notre Dame is a great school." The 6-3, 190-pound Mond is ranked as the No. 36 prospect in Texas and the No. 11 dual-threat quarterback in the country in the class of 2017. Mond said that he would consider taking a visit to Notre Dame at some point during the recruiting process. Mills' father, Steve, echoed the same thoughts when discussing his family's thoughts on Notre Dame. "I'm from the Midwest, so we would like to check it out if Notre Dame is in- terested," the elder Mills said. The 6-3, 188-pound Mills is ranked as the No. 3 pro-style quarterback and No. 52 overall prospect in the country. It remains to be seen if Notre Dame will take the next step with Mills, but the same can be said about the rest of the signal-callers on the board, which isn't necessarily a negative. Notre Dame has missed on top targets before and rebounded to sign just as a talented of a quarterback. That could be the case once again although there's plenty of work ahead. ✦ TEN CLASS OF 2017 QUARTERBACKS TO KNOW All rankings from Rivals Jack Coan, 6-2, 176, Sayville (N.Y.)
