ND SPORTS BY JORDAN WELLS T he Hockey East Association held its annual media day Sept. 21 at the TD Garden in Boston and revealed the league's preseason polls. Notre Dame was picked to finish sev- enth out of 12 teams in the coaches' poll, totaling 72 points. Boston College led the group with 115 points and seven first- place votes, followed by Boston Univer- sity with 107 points and three first-place votes. Defending national champion Providence rounded out the top three with 95 points and two first-place votes. The Irish will host Boston College Jan. 29 and will bring in Boston Univer- sity for two games Feb. 26-27. "This year we will still be a young team with 16 underclassmen, but the positive thing is a lot of those players now have a year under their belts," Irish head coach Jeff Jackson told reporters.
