6 Turnovers forced by Notre Dame in its last eight games, dating back to last year's loss to Louisville in the home finale. The Fighting Irish have failed to generate more than one turnover in each of those eight games, including only one in the rain-soaked game at Clemson. Notre Dame lost four turnovers in the second half versus the Tigers. 7-11 Notre Dame's record on the road when ESPN's College GameDay hosts the game from that site. Those 18 road appearances on GameDay are the most by any team. 8 Touchdowns this season scored by Notre Dame that covered at least 50 yards after senior run- ning back C.J. PROSISE's 56-yard receiving score in the fourth quarter off a wheel route. That is already the most in one season during head coach Brian Kel- ly's six years, and the most for the Irish in one season since they had eight in 2002 during a 10-3 campaign. 12 Consecutive home games won by Clemson, the fourth-longest streak in the nation and one short of tying its school record. The only schools with longer streaks are Baylor (19), Boise State (17) and Florida State (16, including Notre Dame last year). Head coach Dabo Swinney's Tigers are 29-2 in their last 31 home games. Swinney also is an impres- sive 7-3 versus teams ranked in the Associated Press top 10 at the time of the game. 14 Tackles by Notre Dame junior free safety Max Redfield against Clemson, 11 of them solo. That tied his career high achieved in the 31-28 Music City Bowl victory versus LSU last December. 14-0 Clemson's lead with 8:43 still left in the first quarter. It is the quickest Notre Dame has been down 14-0 since hosting Oklahoma on Sept. 28, 2013, when the Sooners had that lead with 12:15 still left in the first quarter. Even then, the Irish cut the deficit to 14-7 by the end of the quarter. In the first four games this year, Notre Dame had a 47-6 scoring advantage in the first quarter. 321 Passing yards by Fighting Irish sopho- more DeShone Kizer. That is the second- most ever by a Notre Dame quarterback in his first road start. The record is 369 by Dayne Crist at Michi- gan State in 2010, when he completed 32 of 55 passes. The Irish also lost that game, 34-31 in over- time off a fake field goal that resulted in a Spartan touchdown. Senior running back C.J. Prosise's 56-yard receiv- ing score marked the eighth time in five games that the Irish have scored on a play of 50 or more yards. PHOTO BY BILL PANZICA
