"Those two kids that had the big plays, JuJu and Adoree' Jackson — if you miss a tackle, those kids are gone," Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly said after the game. "They make you pay, dearly, and we missed some tackles. We had them in our sights a couple of times." Notre Dame came into the game with its own pair of dynamic playmakers in junior wide receiver Will Fuller and senior running back C.J. Prosise. After struggling in Notre Dame's 24-22 loss to Clemson earlier in the season, Fuller and Prosise immediately set out to ensure that type of performance did not hap- pen again. Fuller ripped off a 75-yard touchdown reception on Notre Dame's first play of the game. Prosise followed that up with a 31-yard gain on his first touch. He finished off the second Irish drive with a 25-yard touchdown to put the Irish up 14-10. Notre Dame's offense finished the game with 11 plays of at least 15 yards and eight plays of at least 23 yards.
