George DiCamillo ◆ Wrestling The two-time ACC champion (2013 and 2015) is looking like a good bet to defend his crown at 133 pounds. The redshirt third- year is the conference's highest-ranked 133-pounder, checking in at No. 6 nationally in the first edition of the NCAA coaches' panel rankings Jan. 21. Di Camillo has been a steady presence for No. 17 Virginia all year, placing third at the prestigious Southern Scuffle Jan. 1-2 and boasting an overall mark of 21-3. Bridget Guy ◆ Women's Track and Field The second-year broke her own school record in the pole vault during the first indoor meet of the season when she jumped 13 feet, 6.2 inches Jan. 16 at the Virginia Tech Invitational. The event-winning leap was six inches higher than the previous school record and a great start for Greensburg, Pa., native, who will be looking to build off of her finishes of fourth and sixth in the event at last year's outdoor and indoor conference championships. Kyle Guy ◆ Basketball The senior shooting guard from Indianapolis Lawrence Central High was one of four prep stars who signed with the Cavaliers in November. Guy, who is listed as the No. 44 overall prospect in the 2016 class, was named a McDonald's All-American and will take part in the annual prep all-star game that will be held in Chicago April 1. He is the first such honoree from his high school and was averag- ing 24.6 points per game through Jan. 18. Ellen Thomas ◆ Swimming and Diving Thomas helped the Cavs, ranked No. 3 nationally as of Jan. 25, top Virginia Tech and Towson Jan. 15-16 in Christiansburg, Va., and was named the ACC Female Swimmer of the Week for her performances. The third-year from Guildford, United Kingdom, won her two individual events, the 50- and 100-yard freestyle, and was part of four victorious relay squads, the 200 free relay, the 400 free relay, the 200 medley relay and the 400 medley relay.
