and those are the same skills that you adopt at work, it's truly the same principles on the field that you execute in the workplace." Jen originally accepted the position of Vice President of Health and Safety without cognitively thinking of the adversity she faced herself as a student-athlete. However, Jen now finds that her ACL injury drives her everyday to find the most advanced equip- ment and products to both prevent injury and to help injured athletes return to the field. She stated, "The work that I do now, given that I was always the comeback kid and rehabbing, is so fine tuned to who I am. What I do is find products, devices, and diagnoses that help prevent injury. We look to find the best equipment to help athletes. After Jen's departure from the University of Virginia she maintained a relationship with both Jane Miller, senior associate athletics director for programs, and Julie Myers, head women's lacrosse coach; two women she believes significantly influenced her life. When asked why she gives back to Virginia athletics, Jen stated that she wants to support the people that guided her through challenging times so that they can continue to impact people in the same way that they impacted her. Jen noted, "I lost my mom in college and had it not been for Jane Miller and Julie Myers, I don't know where I'd be. As coaches, they gave me the support and nurturing I needed as a young kid. I did suffer from loss and they truly guided me through that period. They showed me the value of a coach and how they can influence people and that is why I give back. I want to be sure that others receive the same kind of support they gave to me."
