His younger brother Kenny is also a running back who will be a 2019 recruit. 2016 PROJECTION • The return of senior Tarean Folston from a knee injury and sophomores Josh Adams and Dexter Williams in 2016 make a redshirt year likely THEY SAID IT • Head coach Brian Kelly (courtesy UND.com): "Deon is the 'lightning' of our duo of Floridian running back signees. He has shown the ability to make big plays against top competition. I am confident that Deon will be very successful due to his talent and determination." • Running backs coach Autry Denson: "His senior year, he loses his quarterback and two of their top linemen to a rival high school … he was not leaving, and he had plenty of people trying to get him to go. The way he was able to mature from a leadership standpoint — as well as continue to develop his game because he had to do so many other jobs — we will see the benefits." • BGI football analyst Bryan Driskell: "McIntosh has impressive playing speed, good vision, makes decisive cuts behind the line and shows good pa- tience on perimeter runs. He balances that with the instincts to know when to take the edge. "He shows quick feet and strong agility, and he uses those traits well."
