After visits to North Carolina and Duke this week, Stueber will visit Penn State on Saturday for the Blue-White Game. It might have gotten off to a slow start, but Stueber's recruitment has taken off in recent months. He now has a scholar- ship ledger that includes Boston College, Connecticut, Penn State, Syracuse, Tem- ple and Vanderbilt, and he's also received interest from Ivy League programs Har- vard and Yale. While visiting the Tar Heels on Mon- day, Stueber added yet another offer to his list. "I was very thankful for that as well," Stueber said. "It was great to see the campus. It's the first time I've been down here to see the school." Stueber, a 6-foot-6, 305-pound tackle who has received a two-star rating from Rivals.com, checked out Duke on Tues- day and was hoping to see his good for- tune continue in Durham, N.C. "They haven't told me that they're going to offer me or not, but I'm hopeful that they will," Stueber said of the Blue Devils. "I've had good contact with the offensive line coach. He's a really good guy." Stueber will hit the road again this weekend when he makes his third trip to University Park, Pa., to check out the Nittany Lions. He visited Penn State for a camp last summer and then returned in March. Although he was on hand to watch spring practice, Stueber departed that day with a scholarship offer and said that it was one that he would seriously consider. With another trip scheduled for the Blue-White Game, less than one month after earning his offer, Stueber is eager to get a different look at the school, a glimpse of what game day might look like and, perhaps most important, further discuss his recruitment with the coach- ing staff. "I've been there twice, but I've never actually seen the stadium in action, so it'll be great to see that and see the at- mosphere," Stueber said. "It's the sec- ond-largest stadium in all of college football, so it should be great to see. They told me that 80,000 people are going to be there, or something, just for their spring game, so that'll be pretty crazy to see. But, yeah, I'm just looking forward to getting back up there, further developing a relationship with the coaches." He added that he's "still getting a sense of what they're all about and getting that atmosphere for the school and every- thing. I saw the campus. It was really nice as well, but I'm just trying to get a better sense, because that's definitely one of the schools that I'm interested in." Following his trip to PSU this weekend, Stueber plans to attend the Rivals Camp Series April 30 in Piscataway, N.J. Other- wise, his travel schedule appears to be slowing down. Asked if he has plans to see additional Division I programs after Penn State, Stueber replied, "I think that'll be it for a while." With this week's visits to North Car- olina and Duke, which came on the heels of another visit to Boston College, Stue- ber has no immediate plans to end his re- cruitment. However, he would like to commit to the school of his choosing prior to the start of his senior year at Darien. "I want to make an educated decision," he said. "I want to see all the schools. … I want to have it out of sight by next [sea- son], so maybe I'm targeting summer to have that over with so that I can go into my senior year and have that ease in my mind and just finish the year out and enjoy that, not have to figure out where I have to go to school." Rivals considers Stueber to be the No. 8 prospect in Connecticut's Class of 2017.
