Lineman is second to join Class of '18 Bleich set to bolster offensive front after announcing for Nittany Lions in early April A P R I L 1 3 , 2 0 1 6 B L U E W H I T E O N L I N E . C O M 17 Penn State's pool of offensive line tal- ent is getting even bigger. Chris Bleich, an offensive lineman out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., be- came the second prospect to join the Nittany Lions' Class of 2018 when he announced on April 7 that he had given the coaching staff a verbal commit- ment. The announcement came just days a@er he paid a visit to University Park. "Chris really enjoyed everything when we were there the other day," said Walt Bleich, Chris's father. "It has everything he could ever want. Between football and school, it's the whole package." Originally from Plymouth, Pa., Bleich played his freshman and sophomore sea- sons at Wyoming Valley West Senior High before transferring to IMG Acad- emy this past winter. The opportunity to return to the Northeast was a major con- sideration for Bliech as he mulled his col- lege decision. "It's great to know that he'll be close to home for college," Walt Bleich said. "He has a lot of friends there already. He's be- come close with [Penn State freshman lineman] Connor McGovern over the years, so it's nice knowing that he has some friends on the team who can help him adjust to everything when he finally gets there. "Also, it's nice knowing that Penn State is going to take care of him. If he went down South and got injured or some- thing, who knows what would happen? At Penn State, we don't have to worry about that. They always look a@er their players." At 6-foot-5, 308 pounds, Bleich is seen as either a guard or tackle at the Football Bowl Subdivision level. Walt Bleich said he feels as though offensive line coach Matt Limegrover is the right person to help his son reach his potential. "Watching [Limegrover] work with the players last week, we were both really impressed," Bleich said. "He's very hands-on. He makes sure that guys aren't cutting corners, which is good. "We both thought he's very person- able, too. He cares about his guys. He wants them to succeed on the field and in life." Bleich joins defensive end Micah Par- sons in Penn State's Class of 2018. gigisdining.com ' Voted Most Romantic and "Best" Fine Dining Fantastic Cuisine, Exceptional Service... 814.861.3463 W LUNCH|DINNER SATURDAY BRUNCH SOUTHERN INSPIRED. locally grown Voted M o s t R o F Fa n t a s t i c C E x ce ep p t i o n a F i n e m a n t i c a n d Best" C u i s i n e , a l S e rv rv i ce e . . .
