WOMEN'S BASKETBALL Three Earn All-America Honors Notre Dame's three first‑team All‑ACC players also received All‑America notice. Sophomore forward Brianna Turner was selected to the 10‑woman teams of the United States Basketball Writers Asso‑ ciation (USBWA) and United S t a t e s B a s ke t b a l l Coaches Association (USBCA). She also was a first‑team All‑ America selection by Sports Illustrated, and sec‑ ond team by espnW and the Associated Press. Turner led the team in scoring (14.6 points per game) and rebounding (7.3 caroms per con‑ test), and blocked a team‑high 88 shots. She and UConn's Breanna Stewart were the only players nationally to rank among the top 13 in field goal percentage and blocked shots. Fifth‑year senior wing Madison Cable was an honorable mention selection by the AP and WBCA. She was second on the team in scoring (13.7) and rebounding (5.7), paced the squad in steals (61) and three‑point‑ ers (73), and finished fifth nationally in three‑point percentage (47.1). Junior point guard and team captain Lindsay Allen received WBCA honorable mention recognition for the second straight year. Her value as a facilitator goes far beyond raw stats, although her 204 assists easily led the team (second place had 85). In her last two games, she led the team in scoring with 22 points on 10‑of‑ 13 shooting from the field in an 87‑70 victory over Indiana in the second round of the NCAA Tourna‑ ment, and 20 more in the Sweet 16 loss to Stanford (90‑84). — Lou Somogyi Junior point guard Lindsay Allen received some All-America notice for the second straight year.
