Mustipher and Alex Bars became the
third and fourth starters at center and
right tackle, respectively, although
Bars started slow while recovering
from ankle surgery last October.
Kelly commended senior right guard
Hunter Bivin as one of the most im-
provedplayers on offense this spring,
but that remains a competitive situa-
tion that will carry over into August
camp.
Summary: A dearth of true tackle
prospects — Bivin would be the third
option on either side — necessitates
that Bars (a left guard last year) stay
at tackle with his ability to work in
space. However, if incoming freshman
Tommy Kraemer in August proves to
be one of the five best linemen for
veteran line coach Harry Hiestand,
then he also could vie for a spot on the
right side of the line.
"Harry could disagree with me and
that would be fine — I think Kraemer
is going to come in and compete over
there," Kelly said. ✦
