Notre Dame linebackers who have been second-round
selections since 1961, with JAYLON SMITH the most
recent (34th overall to Dallas). The only one ever se-
lected in the first round was Bob Crable in 1982. The other
seven second-round choices were: Myron Pottios (1961) and
Jim Lynch (1967), both future Pro Bowl players; Greg Collins
(1975); Bob Golic (1979), who would become a three-time
Pro Bowl nose guard; Demetrius DuBose (1993); Court-
ney Watson (2004); and Manti Te'o (2013).

tackle Mike McGlinchey is
projected to be selected in the 2017
NFL Draft by ESPN.com's Todd Mc-
Shay. That would make him the third
consecutive Fighting Irish left tackle
starter under Kelly to be selected in
the first round, joining current Pro
Bowl player Martin (2014) and Stan-
ley (2016).

Dame has had a player
selected in the NFL Draft, the lon-
gest streak in college football. It
comes with an asterisk, though,
because none was picked during
the regular draft in 1977, but run-
ning back Al Hunter was chosen
in the first supplemental draft
that summer after being dismissed
from the school. The supplemen-
tal draft was enacted for players
who had various circumstances af-
fect their eligibility and did not en-
ter the main draft. USC and Michi-
gan have had a player chosen 78
consecutive years since 1939.
