a very good pitcher shows how far Jones has
come since his freshman season.
"Credit him for seeing the delayed gratifi-
cation out of high school, and his parents for
seeing him through the collegiate experience
and three quarters of a degree," Kuhn said.
"Now, we pat him on the tail and wish him
good luck, and we'll always be following
him and hopefully he thinks fondly of his
time here."
No need for Kuhn to worry about that.
Jones not only has had a great experience as
a baseball player being part of Virginia's first
CWS title team, but also as a great university
experience.
"We've achieved a heck of a lot here,"
Jones said. "Certainly we are not done this
year, but it's been a great experience for me
so far. I've made some lifelong friends and
we'll still stay in touch every day.
"It's great to be a part of these guys and the
camaraderie of the team."
But Jones can indeed take great pride in
the accomplishments of his team, his own
personal development journey and some very
wise choices he made along the way. â—†
In May, both Baseball America and MLBDraftCountdown.com projected Jones to be a
first‑round pick in the 2016 MLB Draft.
