BY LOU SOMOGYI L ike a competitive athletics event, a school year with the sports programs will have its ebbs and flows. In the 12 months from August 2015 through July 2016, here were some of the top memories, listed chronologically. M*A*S*H RERUNS Injuries are an inevitable aspect in the violent world of football, but in a one-month period from Aug. 14 through the second game Sept. 12, it took on almost ridicu- lous proportions. By the start of the third game, Notre Dame had lost its starting quar- terback (Malik Zaire), starting run- ning back (Tarean Folston), starting tight end (Durham Smythe), starting nose guard (Jarron Jones) and start- ing nickel back (Shaun Crawford) to season-ending surgeries.
